When starting my multimedia project, I was not instantly excited about the work I was going to do. It took a while for me to get in the swing of things, but now that I’m in the process of being complete, I am starting to enjoy working with the multimedia aspect of my story. With the help of Mrs. Sandifer-Walker, she opened my eyes to how I can tell the story of student movements through this “new media”.

One of my favorite multimedia tools of my project is the collage provided by Vuvox.com. It is so easy to tell your story with pictures, video, and music arranged in any style of your choice. Being that my story is about student movements, I plan to show this from the 1960s through today. Those 1960 sit ins started a wave of student ran protest and with this collage, I can show the transition of that throughout the years.

Producing a website is also an aspect of the project that I’m starting to enjoy. With the Adobe product Dreamweaver, making this website is a breeze. Through this website, I get to showcase my story, links relating to student movements, and photos. It is also a great digital portfolio that shows my skills as a journalist.

With social networks such as Twitter and Facebook, it is going to be easy to get my project out to my fellow college students. I have been tweeting and updating my status about me working on my project. Also, I have create a blog to showcase my story on Blogger.com. These tools only will help to make my project a success.

My time in Online Journalism has been a great one. With this project almost complete, I have grown as a journalist and have adjusted to the changes that effects journalism today. I would like to personally thank Mrs. Sandifer-Walker with entrusting me with covering this story. She has truly opened me up to what it is like to be a real journalist.
